Adriana Zhang, Reporter, Weather Anchor
Born in Kunming, China, Adriana was raised in Winnipeg before earning her Honours Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Psychology from the University of Toronto. Which leads to the obvious question … How did she end up in television?
“I always thought I was going to be a doctor, but soon realized medicine wasn’t for me.” After taking a few courses in media writing, she enrolled in Journalism at Humber College. There she discovered a passion for reporting. “I craved the fast-paced environment and being out in the field. But most of all, I loved that I could learn in-depth about something new every day.”
And that love for learning has served her well as she’s also taken on the role of Weather Anchor during the TBT News Hour.
But it’s not all work and no play for Adriana. Despite a slender figure, she is passionate about food, trying new foods and unique flavours.
And if you see her on the ice, give the lady some room. She was a competitive figure skater and ice dancer throughout her youth, becoming a three-time provincial ice-dance champion. And in 2003, Adriana and her ice-dance partner competed at the Canada Winter Games.
You can see Adriana weeknights reporting both news and weather during the TBT News.
