Ashley Bacon, News Reporter
Hailing from Scarborough, Ashley loves to learn. She attended Wilfred Laurier U. as a double major in History and Film Studies before entering Broadcast Journalism at Seneca College. She worked in Australia for two years before returning home and completing her education. A winter working for Peace River Broadcasting in Northern Alberta prepared her for the move and subsequent 2014 summer in Thunder Bay.
Although she’s proud of the Reporters’ Choice award she received from Seneca, her passion is telling stories that matter. She loves learning something new from the people she meets every day.
And don’t be surprised if you run into Ashley out and about the city. Ms. Bacon loves to skate in the winter and swim in the summer and we're certainly set-up for that. “I try and keep active when and where I can.” But her film background means she also spends a fair amount of time catching the latest flick at the theatre.
Ironically, she’s a little shy in front of a crowd. So if you do see her, approach her slowly, calmly and with a gentle voice. And bring a puppy too. She’s an animal lover!
You can catch Ashley reporting weeknights during the TBT News.
